πŸŽƒ Apparently it's Pumpkin Season

Hello Maker,

There's a slight chill in the air. My kids are starting to wear jackets to school in the morning. There is the slightest hint of yellow forming on the tips of the leaves on the trees. There are other signs of the change of season - canned pumpkin appears in my pantry and my husband is getting that wild gleam in his eye - because it's the beginning of his favorite time of year. He refers to it as "pumpkin season". He LOVES making pumpkin concoctions. Something about the mixture of pumpkin, cinnamon, and nutmeg inspires him to make pumpkin treats of all varieties. I have a few of his recipes on Fleece Fun.

Paleo Pumpkin Pancakes (all the joy of pumpkin guilt free) - get the recipe here.

This pumpkin cookie butter dip is a seasonal favorite.

This Pumpkin Cookie Butter Cheesecake is totally worth the calories!

I have my own sewing contributions to "Pumpkin Season" like:

Happy pumpkin season!

Now in the Studio!

This is a multifunctional tote. Yes of course it's great for trick or treating, BUT personally I'm going to use them as a lovely handmade touch to "Boo" bags (full of little gifts and treats!) for some girlfriends. Plus it's a fun excuse to buy cute Halloween fabric. This tote pattern comes with SVG files of a Witch, Bat, Ghost and Jack o Lantern to add some personality to it. No cutting machine? No problem, you can cut them out by hand with the pdf provided in the Maker's Studio.

Wishing you a Creative Week!

xoxo,

Angel

Free Patterns Master Index // Handmade Gift Ideas // Maker's Studio Every year around this time I get messages from readers whose kids have declared, with full confidence, that they are going to be a wizard for Halloween. I love it every single time β€” and I love this robe pattern even more, because it turns that declaration into something you can actually hand them. The hood is the detail that sells the whole costume, and it's simpler to construct than it looks. Once you've got the shape...

Free Patterns Master Index // Handmade Gift Ideas // Maker's Studio I love a costume that isn't the fifth version of the same superhero at every Halloween party. This Aladdin-inspired magic carpet costume is one of my favorite "wear it once and get stopped for photos all night" projects. It's more craft than couture β€” felt, fleece, and a little Cricut work if you have one β€” which makes it approachable even if costumes usually intimidate you. Free Patterns Master Index // Handmade Gift Ideas // Maker's Studio If I had to pick one pattern that quietly does the most work every October, it's this cape. Add a hood and it's a wizard. Shorten it and it's a superhero. Line it in red and suddenly it's a very convincing vampire cloak. I love patterns that flex like this β€” sew it once, and you've basically built yourself a costume "starter kit" for years of Halloweens to come.
